Boomkat Product Review:
Former Instra:mentalist Damon Kirkham expands his Jon Convex enterprise with a sterling Electro-Techno session featuring a smart remix by Gucci Vump. On the 1st plate 'Fade' plugs into robotic Techno-Pop rollage, projecting the synthetic, melancholic dreams of Depeche Mode onto 2012 dancefloors, while 'New Model' jacks an updated Hardcore 'step with filigree breakbeats galvanized by nexx level Reese bass and emotive chord sequence. On the 2nd plate 'Shadows' plays out a taut, muscular Electro-stepper accentuated with sheer, hi-end studio production. The teaming of Brodinski and Guillaume Brière as Gucci Vump lean the EP highlight 'Fade' on a trill 808 bounce shades away from the Trap-tronic visions of Kuedo or Adeptus.
