Boomkat Product Review:
Now here's a lad who loves a disco bass-line! Reissued and bolstered by some re-records and vinyl only tracks, 'Idealism' was (in part at least) responsible for the resurgence in interest surrounding the 1970's/80's which led to the much derided Electroclash movement back in 2001. Daniel Wang seemingly constructs upwards; starting with the bass and layering from there. Taking in numerous stops that include vocodered disco-funk ('Islands'), shimmering diet-electro ('Let's Go To Mars') and bleep lined bouncing beats ('Altitude'), Wang chucks in a couple of curveballs with the lush 'Misty' and Charlie's Angels 'All Flowers Must Fade', giving 'Idealism' enough of a distinct bite to exist beyond a plastic world.
