Boomkat Product Review:
Japan’s Mule Musiq grind their disco/house beans to 22 tracks from label regulars and new faces alike.
Their first edition since 2014, I’m Starting to Feel Okay Vol.7 takes in highlights such as Strategy’s stepping’ house dub, Mother Nature, Lord of the Isle’s square bass heaver Ruff Rollin, and the flying 909-meets-Indian classical jam, Mysore from Musk, on the first disc.
The 2nd cuts a few layers deeper with the hazy float of Midday Theme by Public Possessions’ Bell-Towers, and a dusty NYC swinger from Frank & Tony, but the top marks go to Gold Panda in disguise as DJ Jenifa with the Essex-baiting/celebrating Dresscode - “Chelmsford on a saturday / white shirt / blue jeans / brown shoes” - brilliant! More of this please, sunshine.
