Massively anticipated new 12" from Ramadanman landing on the consistently ace Applepips label and backed with an awesome dub techno rerub from Sven Weisemann remix. Ramadanman aka David Kennedy is a member of a small core of artists in the dubstep arena who can be relied upon to exert stringent quality control with their output. His productions have trickled out over the last three years with a clear streak of progressive talent and a keening sense of rhythmic structures increasing in quality and value throughout, resulting in one of his most anticpated tracks on 'Humber'. This is a masterclass in forward thinking rhythm construction, cherry-picking the elements of swing, flex and drive out of the genres which have inspired him (from D'n'B to garage and techno) and reprogrammed the whole lot to his very exacting standards, and culminating in the sound of a near future. Sven Weisemann was the obvious choice to remix this track on the flipside, following up Brendon Moeller's dub-house reworks of Appleblim & Peverelist's 'Over Here' with a 128bpm dub-techno heavyweight adding goose-pimpling synth pads to a very smart rhythmic pattern giving some hints in the 'Rumber' title. Just hold it back for the post-breakdown kick and get your jack on. Essential 12" for lovers of quality dub techno and dubstep. Recommended!
