Boomkat Product Review:
Rush Hour scroll way back to 1984 and the work of (arguably) the first house heads, Jesse Saunders and Vincent Lawrence. On the A-side we got two mixes of the massively overlooked 'Gwendolyn', originally released on Trax boss, Larry Sherman's, Precision Records. The Farley "Funkin" Keith version is the one, setting an early template for Chicago weirdos with a druggy dubbed intro and truly unique rhythm programming. A longer mix follows, showing strong connections to European Italo and electropop. On the flip there's Z-Factor (aka Lawrence and saunders again) on the disco bass and rattling machine drum edits of 'Fantasy'. Do not miss.
