Boomkat Product Review:
This amazing release follows up on To Rococo Rot's ABC123 mini LP released at the beginning of this year, and brings together two typically inscrutable productions from messrs Lippok, Lippok and Schneider. 'Wanted' is a magnificent slice of cinematic disco-noir, propelled by cushioned, analogue drum machine hits and floating electronics. At regular intervals submerged, Biosphere-style sampled orchestral stabs weave their way into the mix, imposing a grandiose, elegiac presence amongst all the frosty circuitry and field-recorded industrial clanking - it's an amazing little piece of music, proving that not every three-minute pop song has to be anaesthetisingly dull and simplistic - as is always the case with this bunch, they transmit the sheer joy of sound brilliantly. Flip over to 'Horses, Horses, Horses' and there's a slightly more playful feel, bringing together babbling low-end electronics, warm, whinnying melodies and yet more quilted drum machine emissions. So good!
