Boomkat Product Review:
The artist better known as BPitch Control's Smash TV reverts to his birth name for a new long player on Playhouse. Following up his neatly squashed deep houser 'From Birds And Bees' for the label last year, this album moves further away from the party styles of his Smash TV project with a dry and heavy house sound comparable to his stablemates Farben or Losoul. Tracks like 'Roter Rausch' leave the sweaty club vibes behind in favour of comforting waves of subbass heave and inticate electronica crafted with a deep house attention to detail. 'Druckraum' will certainly appeal to the dub house heads as it licks up carefully burnished dub-chord sequences with the later hours in mind, but it's tracks like 'Golden' where Zilske really makes his mark. Featuring wispy tendrils of vox from August Landelius and Kai Preussner's shimmering shoegaze guitars reminiscent of Ulrich Schnauss that should certify this as a late night must for lovers of all things post-minimal and Berlin orientated.
