Boomkat Product Review:
Neighbourhood rudeboys Blood & Fire opened up their recent sound system shows in Belgium with this cracker, three cuts fairly dripping with good vibes. Sugar mugs flirtatiously over an upful dubwise cut of U Brown's version on Dennis Emmanuel Brown's perennial 'tu-shung-peng' riddim with an old-school circa 1983 NYC rap by Bullwackie's adolescent son Dion, nicing up the females as he looks to fill up his phone book. It was the flipside which turned out pockets the first time this hit the streets: Jerry Johnson's 'Saxman Special' rides a blazing horns arrangement of 'The Good The Bad & The Ugly‚ in typical dread western style over the ridim version of "Billie Jean", and another cut, deeper into still into the dub, highlights the brilliant percussionist Hasan Bakr, over a distinctively new york take on the tune, Lloyd Barnes marshalling the desk to great effect. We don't need to tell you how good this is....the weather's so perfect right now, dive in, crank it up and kick back...pure vibes.
