Boomkat Product Review:
Having drawn a formidable line in the House sand with the release of 'Western Store' and 'We Are Monster', Isolee has come up trumps yet again with these new tracks straight from the Rajko Muller oven. Piping hot and filled with something that resembles an English folk melody (albeit fed through the digital converter), 'Hermelin' opens with shrug of micro beats that slowly bloom into the kind of silky electronic music which brims with emotion despite its silicon roots. Whimsical and tightly focused, 'Hermelin' ("ermine" if you were wondering...) unites the bleeps, beats and tundra vocals into a fizzing rush of house music that extends well beyond the genre's usual borders and leaks joyfully into the less steely paddock of techno. Considering the back catalogue which Isolee has to fall back on, 'Hermelin' refuses to revisit past glories - preferring instead to forge ahead and in doing so respect what went before without bogging down what's to come... In other words, it's ace. Backed up by two further new cuts in the shape of 'Willy Skipper' and 'Sleazy Bee' (glooping electronics and crispy beats), Isolee has managed to fulfill expectations without getting stuck in the mud.
