Hello, Dear Wind
Page France are Christians, well I might be making rather large assumptions here but with songs like 'Jesus' in your rich repertoire then you're not leaving a lot to the imagination. Thankfully, like Sufjan Stevens the band manage to make being a happy clappy God squadder a little more interesting than we'd rightfully expect. There's no tea and biscuits here (okay well maybe a few custard creams at a push) it's all jingle jangle guitars and tear-inducing melodic flourishes, with a big smile to soften the blow. Within minutes of the album's opening track 'Chariots' you can't help but be won over by Michael Nau's honest vocals and warming production, with tambourines in right up there in the foreground, it's so damn sugary sweet but mercy me, it's absolutely beautiful. Let's all go to church!
