Boomkat Product Review:
Hearts is an album length helping of new tracks from Neil Wells, an artist previously known for his work in the bands Seachange, Savoy Grand and Escapologists. Wells is one of the comparatively few artists operating within what might be loosely termed as the electro-pop genre to really get a firm grasp of the 'pop' part of that pigeonhole. 'Go Let It Out' distinguishes itself straight away, actually sounding like it has a bit of a Brandon Flowers thing going on, as if The Killers had been remixed by someone on the Rephlex roster. The production remains brittle and fizzy throughout, lending a real sense of laptop-born intimacy to the album, as if Casiotone For The Painfully Alone finally got around to buying a proper computer. Good stuff.
