Boomkat Product Review:
A mighty double-sized compilation of the filthiest, most out-there space rock around. Hall of Mirrors gathers together big names at the heavy-rocking end of the psych scene like Circle, Kinski, Acid Mothers Temple and Bardo Pond and sets them alongside lesser known yet equally abrasive groups like the bone crushing Gravitar and Subarachnoid Space is one seriously amazing jam, getting bluesy with a Big Muff pile-up on the guitars. There's even an ironic take on John Cage's '4':33"' by Escapade, who strangle every ounce of noise out of their instruments over the eponymous duration. The overall feel of this far-out compilation is pretty close to the two-hour brainache caused by the Galactic Zoo Dossier rare psych primers, and should be treated with similar levels of caution and reverence.
