Boomkat Product Review:
Dada-infected side of psych, blues folk & kraut-debted electro-acoustic improvisations from the esteemed French avant-garde quartet ov Jean-Marcel Busson, Frédéric Rebotier, Ravi Shardja, and Samon Takahashi. 'Goose Vibrations' was created in 2008 and documents the gang known for "gollaborations" with Ghedalia Tazartes, Iancu Dumitrescu and Charlemagne Palestine, among others, dicing with a captivating mixture of styles and sounds ranging from psilocybic avant-folk and cosmic synth music through to stomping motorik grooves and detuned pastoral ragas. The grooving sections are particularly worthy of your attention, coming off like a frayed Can at times, or even a freakier adjunct to $hit & $hine, if you squint hard enough, whilst the detuned blues bits remind of weirder Kiwi rock minus the distortion, or even Richard Youngs-cum-Syd Barrett freak folk. Great stuff.
