Mike Paradinas revisits his recent "Goodbye" with a respectable VIP version and killer remixes from Mu's Jlin, RP Boo, DJ Manny and Xylitol.
"Goodbye" is our favorite record from Paradinas in a minute, and this accompanying remix EP might be even better. RP Boo's remix is up first, and transforms the 'ardkore memorial 'Rave Whistle' into a fast-paced low-end bubbler, built around some particularly evocative FM chimes and Boo's unmistakable syncopated subs. Jlin's take on 'Giddy All Over' is expectedly jerky, shifting the emphasis from beat to beat and playing into her well-known rhythmic template while retaining the orignal track's haunted rave vocal.
DJ Manny retains a good chunk of 'Goodbye' on his remix, curving a Chicago-style low-end through Paradinas's fluffy melodies and disembodied voices, while Xylitol lifts the track into storybook IDM fantasy land with wobbly synths and shuffled breaks. Nice.
