Boomkat Product Review:
*KILLER mixture of those woozy Boards of Canada style inderludes and Afro-centric Psych spinouts...* Alex Deranian ov Run DMT, Ferrari Jackson, and Family Band fames makes his full length debut as Semya with a 16-toke session for Leaving Records. Taking cues from James Ferraro, BoC, Sun Araw, New Age meditation tapes and suchlike, 'Golden Days', as the title infers, is well hackneyed. But it's lushly so, and done with far more nuance and warmly fractal playfulness than your average keyboard and cassette drooler. We could happily haze out to this on a spare afternoon and let its smoky drift gently send us sideways. Fans of extreme tape warp, marijuana, and generally mushing out should give this some time - so good.
