Boomkat Product Review:
When Manuel Goettsching of german Krautrock luminaries Ashra Temple switched on his sequencer in 1981 and improvised with synth and guitar for 60 minutes, he couldn't have imagined that his 'E2-E4' would become one of the major single influences on Detroit techno. Now a horde of crazy disco Norwegians pay tribute another two decades down the line. Prins Thomas first tricks you onto your feet with a solid percussive disco groove before engulfing your head in gentle gliding synth clouds that are reminiscent of the original's repetitive layers - but before things get too cosy he unleashes a nasty bassline that grows into an acidic monster. Black Belt Andersen's remix attacks the theme in a swift ninja stealth mode - over a thumping beat he spreads out the sweet synth melodies and effect-ladden guitar lines and lets them blossom into full effect.
