Boomkat Product Review:
The second single to be lifted from Jenny Lewis' sophomore solo effort, Acid Tongue is a retro-styled ballad, with the Rilo Kiley star's voice sounding in fine vintage form, characterised by the same sort of echo effect Phil Spector used on John Lennon's solo recordings. The rest of the production follows suit, sounding bare but very warm in its stripped '70s-style execution. By the time a swell of strings join in towards the end you'll be fully won over. Lovely stuff, and one of the best cuts from the LP.
