Boomkat Product Review:
Simo Cell drifts back to Livity Sound Recordings with the sweetly contrasting ruff/smooth grooves of his Gliding EP after a smart 12” for the label’s backwards sibling, Dnuos Ytivil.
We’re most drawn to the equilibirum of air-brushed synth gradients and raspy, stepping boom in Gliding, which carries it weight beautifully well, and also to the pensile ambience underlined by viscous subs in As Long as We Have Those Things, but that’s not to discount the rude, gravelly churn of Obi 1 or the brittle, droning wriggler Away From The Keyboard, which also execute their purpose with rugged finesse.
