Boomkat Product Review:
Mysterious duo Tiger & Woods are back with another powder-laced slice of disco-era sleaze sure to get the hips shifting and the mojitos gushing. This time around the shadowy pair pit their production prowess against Imagination’s Studio 54 classic ‘Music and Lights’, stripping out the vocal (mostly) leaving ‘that’ bassline and the kind of slinky groove that made the early 80s, well, the early 80s. It’s all right here – excess, drugs, booze, and the kind of carefree attitude that’s as archaic as that clipped diva squeal. Just because they love us, there’s another two slices of echoey dance nostalgia in the shape of ‘Kisstellme’ and Kisstellmemore’, one being an extended prog-disco jammer, and the other coming stripped down to a mere cavernous beat. One for the more adventurous DJs then, and combining the editing skill of Errorsmith and the funk we last heard back when Daft Punk were still grinding out great tracks (that’ll be a good ten years ago then?) there shouldn’t be any reason not to grab hold of this with both hands and sail away into the neon clouds.
