Boomkat Product Review:
Mystic, meandering expressions of a yearning machine soul from the untouchably titled Philip K Glass Dick. Working in a weird wormhole somewhere betwixt Design A Wave, Hype Williams and M. Geddes Gengras, 'Gift of Love = Homies' orbits expansive proto-trance-techno zones in the clattering motorik epic 'Mass Raves', alongside the Coil-gone-minimal boogie vibes of 'Tastes Like Fennel' and richly detailed kosmiche psychedelia in 'Centuries of Black Iron' or the gorgeous pastoral wheeze of 'I-5'. PK Glass Dick explains his process behind the music: “In order to jam, one must listen. You must tune in to what the other players are doing. When the proper tuning has been attained you are essentially accessing a certain type of telepathy. It’s the truth – just ask the next dirty hippy you see wearing a Grateful Dead tee shirt. While writing and recording these songs I had no one to jam with. Yet I still relied heavily on telepathy. In the dead of the night I listened intently to nothing. And in that nothing I sought out the love, thoughts, and hopes of my closest friends. I took what I heard and I made it into music.”. Warmest recommendations, this guy is quite a find!
