Boomkat Product Review:
Fancy filth from Dabrye to follow up last week's acid onslaught from JTC, backed up with a slew of remixed classics from Kode 9 and Flying Lotus, it's a heavy package fo' sure. First up is the fresh-off-the-press-collab with D.I.T.C's AG rolling on a next level ragga hop joint as only Tadd Mullinx can do, a superior sub bumping rhythm meshing techno stabs with sci fi FX for killer results. Next up, we're finally treated to a pressing of Kode 9's sick remix of the MF Doom voxed 'Air' classic from a few years back. The keener eared amongst you may have noticed this track crop up in a number of Kode 9 mixes over the last 12 months, often providing a shocking contrast for 9's usually instrumental mixsets, whilst retaining the basswise steppage sound he's made his own. Not short on classic material to throw up for the remix, 'Game Over' gets the treatment from Flying lotus who slackens the electronic grind of the original into a bumpin slow slugger with beautifully phased string stabs, truly doing justice to the original. The b-side backs up with instrumental versions of the A-side, which makes for a nice surprise with the Kode 9 version especially. The man Dabrye further proves he can do no wrong with this tidy little package, quite defintiely an essential!
