Boomkat Product Review:
Moiré pops his unique strain of electronic funk for R&S following a celebrated run of 12"s and an LP for Werk Discs/Ninja Tune in 2014.
'Gel' sounds as its title suggests - a viscous and chewy set of tunes syncopated with a fluidity that work wonders on bodies sloshing across sticky 'floors.
From the top, his murky boogie house play 'Let Down' works a strangely buoyant bass against descending synthlines until we're not sure of up-from-down, whilst 'STFN' extrudes '80s Detroit/Chicago house thru a rceursive disco wormhole right up to 2015.
On the bottom, 'Gel' slops gunky bass around splintered claps in thee waviest boogie swang, and 'Blind' stumbles over itself to tangle you in its knotted jack.
