Boomkat Product Review:
Panorama Bar resident, Virgin(ia Högl) initiates her own series with the loved-up house bounce and hustle of Funkert for Ostgut Ton, taken from her upcoming LP debut, Fierce for the Night.
They’re exactly the sort of loose, slinky, and infectious grooves you’d expect to hear at P’bar, burning up with a late night soul and narcotically infectious appeal that gets the synapses twitching.
Funkert does it Detroit X NYC style with shades of Chez Damier factored by her perfectly simmering vocals on the extended mix, and giving more room for the breaks to bounce with the chords on the dub. Ravert taks that vibe deeper into the night/day with supple, rugged baseline and nagging rave riff, the vocals tucked lower in the mix, bringing the limbs out and heads down.
