Boomkat Product Review:
Belgian sound designer Yves De Mey measures out five unique, technoid architectures backed with Miles and Peter Van Hoesen remixes for Archives Interieures. Much like his excellent Opal Tapes release, 'Metrics', these are precise, detailed constructions unfolding morphing, tessellated geometries in real time. We're particularly enjoying the sub-heavy pulses, shivering hi-end frequencies and snarling darkside D&B signatures of 'Frisson'; the Schnitzler-esque 'Cadence'; the gloomy post-techno shapes of 'Isorhythmia', which is subsequently given an animalistic noise techno overhaul by Miles, and resculpted as a desolate 'Rough Dub' by Peter Van Hoesen, aka De Mey's Sendai collabortor. RIYL Emptyset, Alva Noto, Ryoji Ikeda.
