Boomkat Product Review:
**Yellow wax w/ printed PVC sleeve designed by Cottweiler x felicita** Gum Artefacts serve a shock dose of accelerated plastic pop from Felicita in 'Frenemies'. The London-based producer's vinyl debut (hear the digital types groan) follows on from a cuttingly cute single, '(>'.')>#' with seven brilliantly lurid and upfront constructions coming off like SOPHIE produced by EVOL. As one of the artists championed by bandcamp mole and vaporwave observer, Adam Harper, Felicita's music occupies a wholly new plateau of production aesthetics which has sent poor sods like us grasping for the thesaurus in order to try and aptly describe the stuff. Yet, in the finest tradition of genuinely *new* music, it evades concrete classification at every turn, darting between Trecartin-esque vocal cut-ups, hyperreal foley and head-scrambling computer music via surreal R&B sprites and bittersweet Oriental timbres. Without a doubt it's one of the most oddly compelling records you'll hear in 2014.
