Travis Stewart (Machinedrum) & Praveen Sharma (Braille) reprise the electronicaR&Bass romance of their Sepalcure duo for Hotflush.
Sepalcure’s eponymous 2011 debut landed as the scene was in flux between “future garage”, footwork, and deeper house strains as former electronica boys and girls were waking up to the pleasures of dancing and colourful melodies in the wake of IDM and dubstep.
Five years down the line, Machinedrum has carved out a very successful oeuvre within those parameters, whilst Pravenn has explored sweeter, intricate strains of UK garage with his Mute Swan solo album for L.A.’s Friends of Friends label.
Remerging in the studio, the pair have lit some candles, cracked open a crate of whiskey and disclosed their most intimate, bubbling ‘floor show together with Folding Time, bringing the likes of Angelica Bess and Rochelle Jordan on board for an 11 song suite of pillow talk and blissful future pop with highlights in the bumping blend of reggae, R&B and deep house on Been So True, and the tucked jungle rollige of Hearts in Danger, or the dusky latinate swerve of Brother Forest.
