Flying Lotus Presents: Music From The Hit Game Show Ozzy's Dungeon - Taken From V/H/S/99
Snipped from horror anthology "V/H/S/99", FlyLo's new OST is a short mashup of Adult Swim-esque bumps inspired by 1980s and 1990s gameshows.
Not content with writing and directing 2017's "Kuso", and scoring last year's Netflix-produced anime series "YASUKE", Flylo's managed to stamp his seal of approval on intriguing horror sequel "V/H/S/99". We've not seen it yet, but entitled "Ozzy's Dungeon", we're gonna guess it's a terrifying spin on US gameshow culture - something like "Channel Zero" but for channel-hopping daytime fodder. FlyLo wrote and directed the segment as well as producing the score, so the mood he's managed to create - a light funk/electronic treatment that's part pastiche and part loving homage - is no doubt reflected on screen too.
Anyone hoping for lurching LA beat scene instrumentals or sizzling neo-disco might be disappointed, but if yr into the Ghost Box/Death Waltz axis, this one's for you.
