Boomkat Product Review:
Slinky USA-via-Berlin street soul from 1991; imagine a mid-point between Buffalo Stance era Neneh Cherry and Electribe 101's Talking With Myself - aye into it.
Originally released in 1991, 'Fashion C'est La Latest Attraction' is the debut release from Berlin-based American Claudette Outland, aka Chapeau Claudette. The record might not have done much at the time, but now it sounds almost fresh, echoing last year's future-retro street soul single from Shanique Marie and Finn, "Lifey / Movers".
Outland moves even closer to the rave with breakbeat house track 'Pass Auf (Kifissias Ave Dub)', an unheard version of the original release's B-side freshly remastered for the reissue.
