Boomkat Product Review:
Although the fad for Russian electronica didn’t last very long (Fizzarum? Eu? anyone?) I recently revisited the second volume of Lo Recordings “R U Electronic” and found myself surprised at just how good some of the tracks on there still sound. Alexandroid delivered a couple of the standout tracks on the compilation and here return for a beautifully packaged 17-track album, curiously stretching from spacious electroid jackers to more orchestral pieces drawing on their love of classical music and piano-based composition. It’s not a record that works in its entirety, in places sounding a tad dated, but edited down to 10 or so tracks what you have here is a beautifully serene scape through luscious textures and typically astute soviet soundscaping. Lovely stuff.
