Boomkat Product Review:
House fanzine Faith started out almost ten years ago, a joint venture between London's Soulsonic night (administrated by Stuart Patterson and Leo Elstob), Terry Farley of Junior Boys' Own, Bill Brewster and Dave Jarvis. Now, celebrating Faith's own take on ouse music, this compilation draws on monstrous cuts from the likes of Plastikman, Henrik Schwarz, Pepe Bradock, Ron Trent and Robert Owens. Opener 'The Craze' by Prosumer highlights the key elements of what's to come: hardened, discerning beats, classic basslines and a liberal helping of vocals. In fact, speaking of vocals, Swedish songstress Ane Brun makes an appearance, remixed into an appropriate, club friendly format by Dixon, re-formatted to slot alongside the productions of Radio Slave, Ame and the like.
