Boomkat Product Review:
A noteworthy and timely mix cd from the man Weathers, reminding us of just how inspirational some of his jockey sets really can be. Opening with the reliable electro sluts from Sexual Harrassment 'I Need a Freak', into Egyptian Lover's massive 'Freak-a-holic' from back in the day - the table is set tidily, then swept clear and danced on with abandon during a veritable freak-a-thon. Shifting through some spaced out deep disco rub into a very respectable acid-vocal section, and surprisingly the Alexkid tune from F-Communications emerges as king. The central portion of this excellent mix morphs through some recent european developments, taking flight as the mondblowing Hate Mix of Steve Bug's 'That Kid', recently sighted in the Kompakt Extra series blends adroitly into Metope's 'Second skin' and in turn, out into the Tejada mix of our own very dear Miwon's 'Brother Mole' on CCO. Emerging with the overplayed Black Devil - kerrier district mix but still holding it down its plain sailing until andrew and Keith's own mix of Villalobos's Dexter ties it up. I did have a problem with the cover version of Joy division's 'atmosphere' by Technova, but surely this is a minor quibble at the end of a wicked, immensely jacking set.
