'Exquisite Corpse' is Alfred Daedelus' finest album to date, a decision arrived at after a seriously rare evening of pure-fi listening I treated myself to recently. An album that manages to pull off that rare feat of juggling a plethora of emcee's guesting and a number of outrageous Daestrumental bombs like only this man can pull off, word to Prefuse - 'Surrounded By Silence' will need to bring it on to top this killer album. Fourteen tracks featuring completely on their game spots from MF Doom, Sci, TTC, Mike Ladd and even Miami's Cyne taking a moment away from creating what will be their amazing upcoming debut album for City Centre Offices. The Dae TM unique oldly worldly samples are in place but behind the vocal perfomances they back up and support rather than confuse. Prefuse 73 makes a beat-guest performance on 'Welcome Home' a highlight collaboration from these pals, in other places Dae's solo tracks are equal to anything he's delivered to date, as charming as 'Invention' and as hatstand fun as the mega tip from 'Of Snowdonia', 'Something Bells'. One of my 2005 highlights to date, buy.
