Boomkat Product Review:
After doubling up on a pair of nimbly wrought 12”s, (Steffi-e) Doms & (Martyn) Deykers commit their love of deep, classic Detroit house and techno via rolling UK rave with clinical Dutch execution in Evidence From A Good Source, which is basically the equivalent of a peer tested, top notch gary up the bum.
In the same way that Martyn’s trio of solo albums worked so well as immersive listening experiences and a pack of class DJ tools, this album proves its versatility in waves, from the serotonin influx of Eyes Up to the belly rolling title track, licked up with Martyn’s signature dub chords and rugged rolige, to huggable early ‘ardcore emulations in It’s You I See via some simmering prog house feels and Warp-toned ambient house in To All Our Family And Friends, and the forward wickedness of Transative, with its killer riff hanging somewhere between Skepta’s Duppy and vintage B12.
Trust you’ll hear a lot about this one in months to come.
