Boomkat Product Review:
Surreal, extra-tropical pop recorded in and integrating the environments of Cap Haitien (Haiti), Palmares (Costa Rica), Montevideo (Uruguay), and Pittsburgh (USA). A dramatic intro of ambient pads, distant machine gun fire and etheric chant gives way to a strange, syncretic marriage of pitched pop vocals and electronic layering knitted with random blasts of street brass, cosy indie vocals, shoegaze accordions, banking distortion and car horns. Honestly. It really doesn't fit neatly with any pre-ordained categories - it's maybe best described as a mixture of Toro Y Moi, Sublime Frequencies radio and street recordings, Holy Other and Gold Panda. What just happened?
