Boomkat Product Review:
Mo Kolours steps back to One Handed Music with another potently stoned and reel-raw suite of Mauritian folk meets South London DubSoul. Much like its predecessor, the 'Drums Talking' EP, there's an effortless, freeform ebb and flow to the seven tracks of 'Banana Wine' and equally the complementary Beautiful Swimmers remix. At the top, the brittle drums and reverbed drawl of 'Ridda Mountain' sounds like Actress meeting Gonjasufi, while 'Miniculcha' cuts loose on a quickstepping, psyched out flex, and we're quite smitten with the intoxicated, rootsy lope of 'Banana Wine'. Deeper yet, 'Talking Move' slydes in with ceramic boogie percussion and skin-tingling chords for the swingers while Washington. D.C.'s Beautiful Swimmers reduce 'Miniculcha' to a simmering, spicy dreamHouse cut reminding of DJ Sprinkles. Killer record, a must check!
