Boomkat Product Review:
Originally issued in 2010, Endgrove was intended as a two cassette pack and shows legendary New England percussionist Eli Keszler on typically blistering form. His more recent work is notable for its distinct clarity and separation (as opposed to the almost punk-ish lo-fi of his earlier records) and ‘Endgrove’ is a good example of this. Each tiny sound in the spray of beats and sounds is tirelessly reproduced and at times it almost sounds like Keszler is somewhere in the room with you banging away at his enviable collection of objets d’art. Jazz, rock or simply an extension of Autechre’s complex excursions into form and function – who knows what the core of Keszler’s music is, all I can tell you is that it sounds jaw-dropping. Recommended.
