Boomkat Product Review:
Since their last album, changes have been aplenty over at Pretty Girls HQ. Guitarist Nathan Thelen quit the band due to family commitments and the band were left to employ keyboardist Leona Marrs to take his place, meaning that this guitar-led band removed the guitar fully from the equation. The result is startling - the band left with keyboard and drum led tracks produced by Colin Stewart who has previously made albums by Black Mountain and Destroyer sound so stark. He injects a garagey-punk feel to proceedings which takes the sound to new pastures, despite the fact that this is an indie album through and through, the songs have enough of a poppy edge about them to make them stand out in an overpopulated crowd. Really good fun.
