Boomkat Product Review:
This sweet record is the first new Beirut material released since 2007. But, technically 'East Harlem' was written when Zach Condon was 17, so it's actually an old song. No mither, because it's lovely, a slow and joyful pop song with charming ukulele, keys and trumpet arranged for almost guaranteed popfolk satisfaction. Yet, the flipside 'Goshen' is undoubtedly more affecting and possibly one of the finest vocals we've heard from the acclaimed young songwriter. Zach's humble but confident voice is placed front and centre and joined by a swelling piano motif to salve even the stoniest heart.
