Boomkat Product Review:
Fourth release in as many years from the Scottish harbingers of ritual ambient drone noise - previously operating under the cover of the LVTHN and Sigillum Dei pseudonyms. With their no computer or synthesizer stance, Wraiths still manage to conjure the requisite effect from their shadowy array of "re-structured equipment, location acoustics and human vocals", all unnervingly committed to disk under ritual conditions. They share more than a latitude with their Nordic dark ambient counterparts, with an unremittingly bleak and meditative aesthetic reminding of ambient Black Metal, but perhaps closer to their sound are Zoviet*France, a few miles - as the crow flies - down the road in Northumberland, sharing a feel for ragged loops and groaning sounds from sucked from the ether. Dark sh*t for sure.
