Boomkat Product Review:
Rugged, moody and sexy wave and industrial grooves fresh outta Düsselfdorf. Originally issued on Themes For Great Cities, 'Drohgebärden' now appears on ever intriguing Italic Records alongside the likes of Harmonious Thelonious, Kriedler and co. Sparse, knowing traces of DAF and NDW themes percolate through six dryly concise cuts of skinny, 'phet-dabbed drum machine rhythms, low-slung bass and suggestive German vocals. 'There's a kindred spirit in the likes of Powell or Toulouse Low Trax to the gritted, bruxist funk of of 'Blau' and 'Nirgendwo', while the dark and anxious title track recalls everyone from Neu! to Signal Aout 42 and 'Geleit' smudges out into druggy kosmiche synth music beside the steppin' gothic industrialism of ''Du und Ich' and 'Züruck / Nach Vorn'. Sehr cooolisches.
