Boomkat Product Review:
It’s been a while since we last heard from odd pop craftsman Wechsel Garland (aka Jorg Follert), but it’s great to have him back, and ‘Dreams Become Things’ is so disarmingly lovely we’ve just about forgotten he ever disappeared. The peculiar concoction of pop, folk and ambience he did so well on ‘Liberation Von History’ all those years ago is still here in spades, and sounds just as charming as it ever did on this latest LP. This is music for a summer’s day, and seems to eschew any of the world’s problems with its effortless smile and cooling air. Jorg’s vocals add a pop element, but these are more than mere pop songs, and the album’s near-classical narrative frames them in the kind of whimsical air you’d only really find on a Brian Wilson album. High praise indeed, and an album that should ferry you away into a far nicer place.
