Boomkat Product Review:
Cepia aka Huntley Miller is so far known to us only for his remix of L'usine's 'Flat' also on Ghostly, but this will soon change. This is his debut EP - five tracks of warm and intricate organic electronics. The first track 'Dowry' is a suite of shimmering microclicks, subtle melodic chimes alongside a slow head nod hip hop grime beat - a track reminiscent of Machine Drum's finest track 'Jewlea'. 'Countrytime' cast's his musical wears against a slightly eerie drone that's as beautiful as it's disturbing. 'Gas' is a short track based around a loop of chopped bleeps and harder crunchier beats. 'The Marina, The Bank and The Eels' again rocks a harder beat pulse against colder melodics and the final track 'L2' is beatless shimmering organics. Upcoming Cepia material will firstly appear as a deep remix on the second 12" on Mr.Projectile's Semisexual label, an appearance on the next Cottage Industries comp on Neo Ouija and on a album of remixes of Dosh on Anticon. Cepia is advanced IDM with dust in it's circuits. Seriously good - check.
