Boomkat Product Review:
Now at a special price - while stocks last! Some uncommonly good selections on this latest in the DJ Kicks series. Arno Kammermeier and Walter Merziger have picked out some wildcard, not very DJ-friendly tracks to throw into their mix. Perhaps because they're another one of those techno groups who don't also happen to DJ, they feel perfectly at home with throwing Bridget Bardot, John carpenter and Richard Hawley into their selection. Don't fret though, for every track by The Streets or Yazoo, you get a Carl Craig or Matthew Dear production. Also notable is the always-welcome inclusion of Aphex's 'Alberto Balsam', one of this reviewer's personal favourites from the Richard D. James catalogue. A highly varied, even schizophrenic compilation all things considered, and it's all the better for it.
