Boomkat Product Review:
The foremost architect of UK Funky matures into spine-tingling soul music with a sublime follow-up to 'The Patience EP' on Good Years. Fear not ruff crew - there's still nuff bass - but it's now in equilibrium with two sterling vocals and much lusher synth work, the case in point being 'No Doubt''s ascendance from creamy R&B to rolling subs and percolating drums, or the shape-cutting rave riddim alloyed with Sampha's distinctive croon on 'Salient Sarah'. But if you really cannae handle the love, get on the 'Claptrap' styled minimalism of 'One Twenty' or the Rustie-esque drum crack and bass boom of 'Mask' for kicks. TIP!
