Boomkat Product Review:
Obsolete Music Technican Steven Tang presents a sumptuous and romantic debut album of deep, atmospheric house on Smallville Records. Instinctively dialled in to the Detroit spirits of Relics-era Carl Craig and Derrick May, Tang's ten productions range from beautiful anti-G floaters such as 'Interstice' and 'Eternal' to debonaire midnight synth jazz touches on It's Perceived As Sound' and the panoramic 'Brink Of Dawn', thru to proper dancefloor tackle in the elegant hi-tech swing of the title track and the jacking 'Heat Burst' or the cyber-exotic harmonics and supple rhythms of 'Sunspot'. It's clearly nothing new, but as a heartfelt homage to the futuristic yearn of that era, it's a beautifully accomplished piece of work. Tip!
