Boomkat Product Review:
Another graduate of the sound-system academy, Dillinger first came to prominence though his plate spinning skills under the tutorage of Prince Jackie and El Brasso at the dawn of the Seventies. Pulling in influences from the likes of Big Youth, Al Capone and U Roy, Dillinger soon forged his own unique style that eventually led to him hooking up with Bunny Lee to mint some classic of the genre - with the likes of 'African Worldwide', 'See and Blind', 'Leggo Violence' and 'Don't Take Another Man's Life' all included here. Very much a purveyor of thick and rimy dub that takes few chances but nonetheless delivers the goods, Dillinger is at his best when nimbly bouncing around the internal caverns of Lee's airy production - as 'Jah Show Them The Way' and 'Trial And Crosses' perfectly demonstrate. Diligent!
