Boomkat Product Review:
UK grime don Dexplicit delivers a 3rd shot on E.M.M.A.’s Pastel Prism, doing hair-kissing club emotions in a classic Araabmuzik or Joker style shared with the label boss’s sound
Throwing back to the late ‘00s/‘early ‘10s explosion of pilled-up dubstep rave and hip hop that was eaten up by EDM, all four tracks reek of rushy, sweaty club moments. ‘Digital Monk’ is on the nose with an epic choral intro and chromatic synth antics, while ‘Bohemian’ goes all louche Lex Luger on a mission to Bristol, ‘Millenial Rhapsody’ comes off like Araabmuzik doing drippin’ drill, and ‘Aerospace’ takes that sound to full wingspan with Alpine trance arps recalling Banshee’s smart self-release from early 2020. Sickness.
