Boomkat Product Review:
Reissue of an exceptional French industrial side from 1982. Minimal, erotic, and utterly captivating, Die Form's debut album works where it matters, galvanising steely 808 rhythms and lustrous ARP2600 synthlines with frisky discipline and tales of death and bestiality. In the best sense, there are clear lines to be drawn between Die Form and the likes of TG or early Chris & Cosey - the non-linear drum programming; the possesed vocals and lyrical content; the finely crafted and subtle atmospheres - most likely due to similar influences and production palette, but there's also something compellingly icky, visceral and prurient about Philippe Fichot and Éliane P's music that definitely warrants closer inspection and appraisal on their own merits. Recommended!
