Boomkat Product Review:
‘Death Medley’ is a beast of of a twelve, trampolening itself from a crunchy hip hop selection to rebuilt intricacies formulated to a spec originally known as IDM but so much more advanced. Opening track ‘Death Medley’ explores these poles perfectly, interwieving the same sample made famous by Rob Bass’s legendary ‘It takes two...’ , surrounding it with a motorised beast of beats, dissected and mutilated to a point that blends styles beautifully, all the while retaining a paramater of percussive clarity. ‘Dustin Der Kleene’ is different, more dusky and brooding, a muted church organ setting the scene for gently blistered beats and deep, deep, deep bass pulses. ‘Das Claudia Woelky Massaker’ rips through the opening on side B with a muffled hip hop giant, shredding beats into a rolling king of a tune, layered with dollops of bass bounce. Awesome. And so, another 4 modeselektions and some preciously cut locked grooves thrown in for good measure, classic twelve!
