Boomkat Product Review:
I think in the last couple of years many of us have developed a little bit of affection for the noisy pop nonsense that is Ariel Pink. His label Paw Tracks have supported him through a handful of albums, each seemingly more spannered than the last, so it's no surprise that this, the latest album on the Paw Tracks label, should take the sound that little bit further. The creation of noise-merchant Eric Copeland (of Black Dice) and Dave Portner (of Animal Collective) 'Dead Drunk' is exactly what you'd hope from this collision of creative minds; it sounds like it was recorded on an old Dictaphone, features enough wails and moans to put the willies up Casper and sounds like they were doing large amounts of controlled substances to aid the creative process. Not a bad thing, like - it's a very enjoyable experience, aided by a large tankard of vodka and a duty-free family box of smokes. Dead good!
